Steve Maloney is an actor and musician from St. John’s, NL. He can be heard with many fellow Newfoundlanders via recordings and live performances including collaborations with; Nico Paulo, Tim Baker, Rube & Rake, The Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, and many more. In 2017, he was awarded three MusicNL awards, and soon after was awarded the Borealis Music Prize for album of the year. Maloney was songwriter in residence with the Dawson City Music Festival, and has toured his own music across Canada, with a new release set for 2026. He has also composed music for short films, and the series The Golden League on Bell Fibe1. He has appeared on screen in Hudson & Rex, Surreal Estate, and more. Recent stage credits include; Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar (Majestic Theatre), Mickey Mintz in After the Rain (Tarragon/National Arts Centre), NSO Holiday Pops (featured vocalist), and various characters in Theatre Baddeck’s summer season.
